    1. Overview:
    YYW-2 strain-controlled unconfined pressure gauge is the main conventional test instrument for geotechnical tests. The equipment meets SL 237-1999 “Geotechnical Test Regulations”, JTG E40-2007 “Highway Geotechnical Test Regulations”, TB10102-2010 “Railway Engineering Geotechnical Test Regulations”, and GB/T50123-2019 “Geotechnical Test Method Standard”.
    2. Main uses:
    YYW-2 strain-controlled electric lime soil unconfined pressure gauge is used to measure the axial pressure of soft clay with high saturation under the condition of no lateral restriction until the force value when the sample is damaged, and to obtain the unconfined compressive strength of the soil. At the same time, the unconfined compressive strength test is also used to determine the sensitivity of the soil. (Sensitivity is the ratio of the unconfined compressive strength of the original soil to the remolded soil with natural water content).

    2. Soil sample size: 40mm×100mm (diameter*height)
    3. Manual: The lifting plate rises 0.058mm when the crank rotates one circle

    Technical Specification:

    Determination of soil shear strength is essential for designing the foundation of structures, soil and soil retaining structures, soil slopes, etc. Shear strength of soil depends on various factors and in situ soil conditions. Therefore, when laboratory tests in soil are performed to evaluate shear strength of soil, the in situ soil conditions and other factor should be simulated for obtaining meaningful results. For example, the Unconsolidated Undrained test on soil will yield the undrained strength, which can be used for finding the immediate stability of an excavation, whereas a consolidated undrained test with measurement of pore pressure can be used to evaluate the effective strength parameters of soil for designing the long term stability of an earth fill dam. It is well known that the engineering behavior of soil depends on the effective stress and not the total stress. The effective stress can be calculated by measuring the total stress and subtracting the pore water pressure from it. To cater to the needs of shear strength determination of soil, arrange of equipment is offered, as listed in this section.
